The application process for UCT's Creative Writing programme is highly competitive, with aspiring writers from across Africa and around the world applying for a limited number of places. Portfolio

  1. Prepare a substantial selection of your writing (5,000 to 8,000 words) in the genre in which you wish to enrol (fiction, creative nonfiction or poetry)
  2. Send your portfolio, in hard copy, to:
